Livin’ in a van…

DOWN BY THE RIVER!

matt-foley

Probably one of the funniest sketches in Saturday Night Live history is… 20 years old. Hard to believe it, but Matt Foley is celebrating living in a van down by the river for 20 years now.

Think about it, when was the last time you quoted Mr. Foley?… this week?… this month?… probably at least twice already this year.

Have Mercy!

JOHN STAMOS is doing a web show in which he reunites celebrities with the people who took their virginity. He says, quote, “For every actor, celebrity, musician and politician out there that we see, there’s somebody at home going, ‘I was their first.’ I want to hear their stories, too.” And he may even reenact those magic moments with puppets, Barbie dolls or some other kind of animation.

This is SO something that I’ll be checking out.

Big and Purple

A friend of mine made a statement on Facebook the other day, and my first reaction was, “THAT THING IS STILL AROUND!?” The “thing” I speak of is Barney the dinosaur. My friend who has a young one, who is just 3 years old just then discovered the big guy… 2 years after PBS stopped producing the shows. (The kids found it on Netflix… and the mother is now upset at them. lol)

Barney came to torture all parents in 1992. This singing purple dinosaur was HUGE back in the day. The merchandise was huge, the marketing was huge… everything was huge.

Real quick, can you finish this line… “I love you, you love me…”

Simba Can’t Be Happy

One of THE TV shows of the 1990s was the Tim Allen show Home Improvement. Starring Tim Allen, Patricia Richardson, Zachary Ty Bryan, Johnathan Taylor Thomas (JTT) and Taran Noah Smith as the lovable and relate-able Taylor family. Brad (Zachary) the oldest was the star athlete, Randy (JTT) was the middle kid who was a jokester and Mark (Taran) was, at 1st the adorable kid but as the show went on he became the dark, emo gothy kid.

In the Taylor family, only the dad (Tim) and Randy (JTT) went on to do much of anything else. Tim went on to be Buzz Lightyear, voice the Chevy commercials, and re-birth Home Improvement (only with 3 girls this time) with Last Man Standing. JTT became the heart-throb of the times. The girls swooned over him, he was Simba in Disney’s Lion King franchise. Then there was my personal favorite, his guest spot on the TV show Smallville.

The reason I’m re-living these days is to point out that the once loveable Mark, who turned into an emo-style “film maker” has fallen even deeper. THIS STORY from TMZ says Taran “was charged with DUI and possession of hash — and today, he pled “guilty” to the drug possession charge. He pled “no contest” to the DUI charge.”

I would imagine JTT (along with the whole Taylor family… and even Al) can’t be to happy how Mark has ended up.
