Secret Weezer

The other day, while feeling nostalgic and working on the computer a conversation started up about how bad Vista was as an operating system. Nobody in the room had much good to say about it. Naturally the conversation went on to Windows 7 & 8. But that’s when I spoke up to say that Windows 95 was my favorite. I had some puzzled looks and everyone asked why. I told them it was purely because one of the best music videos of all time was hidden on the disk. Someone else apparently had a bunch of non-believers too, so thankfully I can share with you (their) my proof it was there… if you didn’t believe me either.

Pretty rad, right? Now you know… and knowing is half the battle. Here’s the whole video for you.

When was the last time…

I saw something today that I don’t think I’ve seen since the mid 1990s… someone getting around town on a pair of inline skates. For me, I’ve never been one to possess a lot of “skill” and “balance” and thus skating… roller or inline were always out of the question for me.

For me it was like the Chumbawamba song Tubthumping… except I never got back up again (on the skates).

Darius Gets Some Country Love

It was July 1996 and I had just seen an amazing concert from Hootie and the Blowfish. Before it was popular to hate on Hootie, I was a fan, and always have been. When Darius Rucker took his solo act to the R&B world, I followed, and I was there for his Country debut as well. But when you think about it, if Hootie and the Blowfish were to start now… with a little extra twang they would already be country.

Back to that concert from 1996. That was the 1st (but not last) time that as I was leaving the parking lot a watched a moving car open a back door, a head pop out and vomit… while still moving.

Fast forward to October 2012 and Darius has made a full transition to country music. Darius has been invited to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry. Check it out.

Congrats Darius!
