The Radio Reboot is a two hour syndicated radio program that is all about the 90s. Every week we hit the power button to go back to the 1990s. The full 2 hour show is available nation wide on a barter basis. (no cash outlay. yay!)

I saw something today that I don’t think I’ve seen since the mid 1990s… someone getting around town on a pair of inline skates. For me, I’ve never been one to possess a lot of “skill” and “balance” and thus skating… roller or inline were always out of the question for me.
For me it was like the Chumbawamba song Tubthumping… except I never got back up again (on the skates).
“Right Now” from Van Halen was the song used to promote the drink that I will forever continue to think was under-rated… Crystal Pepsi!
I was at the store this weekend and I went to get myself a 12 pack of the latest Pepsi incarnation (Pepsi Max) and it’s spot on the shelf was empty, and this isn’t the 1st time that’s happened. I chalk it up to either everyone loves it OR they put out so few, it may go the way of Crystal Pepsi. I hope it’s the 1st option.
Put out in 1992 Crystal Pepsi was a clear, caffeine free version of “dark/regular Pepsi”. The soda did well in it’s 1st year. So well in fact that Coke responded by creating Tab Clear. But, that’s about as far as it went. Tastes for the soda kinda weened and consensus is that the general public was confused, because clear caffeine free sodas typically had a lemon/lime taste (Sprite & 7-UP).
Alas, I will always be apart of the “New Generation” and will stick with Pepsi products. I just hope the store re-stocks my Pepsi Max.
Michael Stipe and the guys from R.E.M took their 1991 hit “Shiny Happy People” to Sesame Street to show how people with Bipolar Disease can change in their emotions. Stephanie D’Abruzzo (Ave Q) is singing the female vocals.
It was July 1996 and I had just seen an amazing concert from Hootie and the Blowfish. Before it was popular to hate on Hootie, I was a fan, and always have been. When Darius Rucker took his solo act to the R&B world, I followed, and I was there for his Country debut as well. But when you think about it, if Hootie and the Blowfish were to start now… with a little extra twang they would already be country.
Back to that concert from 1996. That was the 1st (but not last) time that as I was leaving the parking lot a watched a moving car open a back door, a head pop out and vomit… while still moving.
Fast forward to October 2012 and Darius has made a full transition to country music. Darius has been invited to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry. Check it out.
So Janie, may have fallen on hard times after her modeling gig for the Blink 182 guys. She did go on to marry Jesse James (yep, the one who cheated on Sandra Bullock) in 2002. In ’09 she was arrested for tax evasion! (does that look like the face of someone who… nevermind, don’t answer that.)
