The Radio Reboot is a two hour syndicated radio program that is all about the 90s. Every week we hit the power button to go back to the 1990s. The full 2 hour show is available nation wide on a barter basis. (no cash outlay. yay!)

Pluggin’ Away

It came out this past week (Huffington Post) that A.J. from the Backstreet Boys was going bald, so he opted to get hair plugs.

A.J. seems to be pretty open about it and happy with the results. Unfortunately for those grew up idolizing, screaming, and fainting at the sight of BSB… you’re now officially getting older. (Sorry)

The good news for BSB fans is that unlike a lot of 90s artists who have faded away, these guys are still going strong.

Hello Again

I would be lying if I told you that I wasn’t excited for the new “Girl Meets World” that has started filming. We are going to be introduced to the world of Corey and Topanga after they’ve settled down and had a kid (or two).

Here’s one of the pictures that has surfaced from the 1st week of filming the new show.

I think most people in their mid to early 30s will be watching a lot of the Disney Channel in 2014 when “Girl Meets World” premieres. I will be.

Smells Like Elevator Music

Do you remember when you were younger (assuming your not currently) and you’d step into an elevator and you’d hear some awful instrumental version of your parent’s favorite song. If you were with them they would start to hum along. Both of you knew full well that you were not actually listening to their favorite artists from back in the day.

I think those days are getting closer for me. While I still think this piano version of Teen Spirit is pretty B.A., I do have to wonder if kids these days heard this in an elevator would they be shaking their heads like I did to my parents? (*crosses fingers* or am I and my music just that much cooler? LOL)

Turrrible

Boyz II Men are headed out on tour this summer with 98 Degrees and New Kids on the Block, and I think most people from the 1990s are happy with that. But, what’s going to happen the next time that Charles Barkley gets up to sing a Boyz II Men song and the guys are out on tour and not able to save him?

Here’s video from TMZ where they were able to (somewhat) save Sir Charles.

It’s Alright ‘Cause…

…I’m saved by Al Roker. This past week the world was abuzz about how upset Tiffani Thiessen looked when Mr. Belding… I’m sorry Dennis Haskins came onto the set during a trivia game.

Am I supposed to believe that NOBODY at the Today Show knew this was happening? B.S.! Am I surprised at Tiffani’s response? A little bit, actually. I like most people enjoy living in a world where all our favorite TV characters love each other. I mean, who doesn’t want to see Zack Attack re-unite?

Then again… she was just busted in on by the principal.

Mr. B. & Group

I had a good time meeting Mr. Belding. Here’s a picture of myself with my friends.

Still Rule

Being a fan of music from the 1990s, a lot of my peers will tell me how they feel “old” and “outdated” when it comes to music. The thing is, music from the 90s is in it’s “awkward phase” in life. It’s not old enough to be “retro” like the 1980s… or even old enough to be considered “oldies”. But it’s not current enough to please a lot of the teenagers of today. The decade’s time will come, where fashions and trends will be revived by kids who think they’re doing something “new”.

Also, if you’re feeling this way about your favorite songs from the 1990s, I do want to offer you this. One of the biggest hits world wide was PSY’s “Gangnam Style”. After the song had gotten a little stale and wasn’t going anywhere else on the charts, to what decade and artist did he turn to? The 1990’s own M.C. Hammer!

If you’re still not convinced, I would also like to point out that Matchbox 20 is still going strong with a world tour in progress, Blues Traveler recently celebrated 25 years as a band, and Hootie and the Blowfish still get together and jam.
